NISM invites applications for approval / empanelment as a Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Trainer for conducting NISM CPE Programs.

Continuing Professional Education

NISM Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Programs are refresher programs to recapitulate the knowledge and understanding tested in SEBI mandated NISM Certification Examinations and to update market developments. Following are key highlights of the program:

  1. CPE Programs are of six-hour (one-day) duration
  2. CPE Programs are conducted by NISM and NISM Accredited CPE Providers
  3. CPE Programs are conducted across the country and throughout the year
  4. The sessions in the program are delivered by NISM Approved / Empanelled CPE Trainers
  5. CPE Programs are largely taken by market participants performing various roles and dealing with various segments of the securities markets.
  6. Currently, NISM offers CPE Programs for 13 of its Certification Examinations viz.,
    1. Currency Derivatives
    2. RTA – Corporate
    3. RTA – Mutual Funds
    4. Securities Intermediaries Compliance
    5. Interest Rate Derivatives
    6. Mutual Fund Distributors
    7. Mutual Fund Foundation
    8. Depository Operations
    9. Securities Operations and Risk Management
    10. Equity Derivatives
    11. Merchant Banking
    12. Investment Advisor (Level 1)
    13. Investment Advisor (Level 2)
    14. Research Analyst

CPE Trainers

The CPE Trainers deliver one or more sessions in the CPE Program. The trainers are approved / empanelled on a contractual basis for a term as to be specified by NISM in the Offer Letter. The Trainers are expected to possess sound knowledge and expertise in their respective domain.

Approved CPE Trainers

Approved Trainers hold a regular or contractual association with any of the NISM Accredited CPE Providers and shall be conducting programs only for NISM and that CPE Provider. (Applicants may obtain Code of Approval from the respective CPE Providers while applying. The Code of Approval helps NISM to identify a Trainer applying for Approval. The Code of Approval is not applicable for Trainers applying for Empanelment)

Empanelled CPE Trainers

Empanelled Trainers do not hold any association with any of the NISM Accredited CPE Providers and shall be conducting programs for NISM and any of the CPE Providers.

Scope of Work

  1. The CPE Trainer shall be required to deliver sessions in CPE Programs of the relevant modules. The CPE Programs would be organized by NISM or NISM Accredited CPE Providers.
  2. The CPE Content (PowerPoint presentation, candidates’ handouts, etc.) would be developed by NISM.
  3. NISM does not offer or guarantee a full time appointment to a trainer.
  4. The CPE Trainer shall conduct a minimum number of CPE Programs every year as to be specified by NISM from time to time.

Criteria for approval / empanelment

The broad criteria for approval / empanelment are as follows:

  1. The applicant should have completed 30 years of age as on 1st September, 2017
  2. The applicant should not be more than 65 years old as on 1st September, 2017
  3. The applicant should have more than 8 years of domain experience as on 1st September, 2017 (For example, having worked as a Compliance Officer is considered a valid domain experience for Securities Intermediaries Compliance CPE)
  4. The applicant should have experience of conducting training programmes (Regular lectures handled for students pursuing graduation / post-graduation as a part of their mainstream curriculum are not considered as training programmes)

Beyond the above mentioned criteria, NISM reserves its discretion on approval / empanelment based on estimated demand both module-wise and location-wise.

Financial Compensation

NISM recommends honorarium of Rs. 3000 per 90-minute session to its empanelled CPE Trainers. NISM also recommends reimbursement of accommodation, travel and conveyance expenses, if any, incurred in pursuant to conducting the CPE Program. The honorarium of approved CPE Trainers would be as per the policy and agreements with the respective CPE Providers. Further information on honorarium would be made available post approval / empanelment.

Other terms and conditions

  1. NISM reserves the right to reject an application if the information is found to be false, incorrect or incomplete. NISM may also de-bar the applicant from applying again.
  2. Fulfillment of the criteria does not necessitate approval / empanelment.
  3. NISM encourages uniform opportunity to its approved / empanelled CPE Trainers. However, engagement of CPE Trainers for the programs is at the discretion of the CPE Provider. Approval / empanelment does not guarantee any full-time employment / or CPE training assignments.
  4. The other terms of contract would be specified in the CPE Trainer Policy that would be shared post approval / empanelment.

Applicants may apply for one or more CPE Modules.

NISM CPE Trainers need not apply again for the modules they have already approved / empanelled for. However, they may apply for one / more additional modules.

Only applications received till 5:30 p.m. on 31st of August, 2017 will be considered for approval / empanelment.
