National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) is pleased to present ‘NISM Summer Project Competition 2018’ for students of Post Graduation in Management. The Summer Project Competition is an annual nation-wide competition for students to exhibit their summer internship projects, to a panel of industry experts and academicians, and win cash prizes up to Rs. 25,000 and other attractive goodies.

 

Rounds of the Competition

Round 1: Registration

Students pursuing final years of Post Graduation in Management may register for the Summer Project Competition in the following link before 9 AM on August 13, 2018.

 

Students shall provide a brief summary of their projects in the registration form. The project shall be an internship project.

 

Guidlines

  1. A student is eligible to make only one registration and contest with only one project.
  2. In case of multiple registrations, only the first registration will be considered.
  3. Students may make minor modifications (correction of typographic errors, spellings, grammar, etc.) to the Project Name or Project Description post submission of the registration form. The guidelines will be provided in the registration confirmation email.
  4. All information provided in the registration form shall be factually correct and accurate. NISM may ask for document proofs for verifying any information. Defaulters may be subject to disqualification.

 

Round 2: Screening of Projects

Registered students may send their entries to NISM along with an endorsement from their Director / Dean / Faculty member. The entries will be reviewed by an expert Committee constituted by NISM. Entries meeting the criteria set by the Committee will be shortlisted to the third round.

 

Guidelines

  1. The projects (entries) shall be sent to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. before 9 AM on August 20, 2018.
  2. Only entries sent by registered students will be accepted.
  3. The entries shall be in .doc (word), .ppt (presentation) or .pdf format only. However, these entries may have images or links to videos or other articles.
  4. The naming convention would be ‘Name of the Student_Name of the Institute’ (example, Jinal Rohit_ABC Institute of Management)
  5. The entries should essentially contain a synopsis of the project.
  6. Plagiarized entries will strictly not be considered.
  7. In case of the same project being submitted by two or more students (as might be in case of group projects), only the first entry will be considered.

 

Round 3: Presentation

Students whose entries are shortlisted will be invited to NISM, Patalganga Campus (near Mumbai), to present their projects to a panel of industry experts and academicians. The presentations will be evaluated on aspects including the domain / subject of the project, scope, innovation, feasibility, research, students’ presentation skills and response to the panelists’ / audience’s queries.

 

Guidelines

  1. Students shall present their project in the form of a PowerPoint presentation (either in .ppt or .pdf format)
  2. The presentation shall have a maximum of six slides excluding the cover slide and the conclusive slide. .
  3. The cover page shall contain the names of the student, the institution and the project and the name of the internship organization, location, sector and internship profile.
  4. The presentation shall preferably elucidate the problem statement or the objective of the project, scope of the project, need-gap addressed (if any), deliverables, methodology adopted, research work undertaken, learning and benefits to the sponsor / implementing organization, future scope and steps taken / plan for implementation.
  5. Each student will be given 20 minutes for presenting the project, including 3-5 minutes for questions and answers.

All shortlisted students participating in the presentation round in NISM will be awarded a Certificate of Participation and attractive goodies from NISM as a token of appreciation.

 

Few Instructions

  1. Only students pursuing final years of Post Graduation are eligible to participate
  2. Registrations / entries received post the timeline indicated above or offline entries will not be entertained in any case.
  3. The shortlist of applications and evaluation of the presentations will be at the discretion of the Committee, the panelists and NISM. Such decision shall be final and binding.
  4. NISM has the sole discretion to reject any entry without assigning any reason.
  5. Final Round: Students shortlisted for the final round of presentation shall report at NISM Office in Vashi, Navi Mumbai, by 5 PM on September 7, 2018.
  6. Reimbursement of Travel: Shortlisted students traveling from outside Mumbai / Navi Mumbai / Thane / Raigad to attend the final round will be reimbursed of their traveling expenses equivalent to 3-tier AC train fare or Rs. 3,000/- whichever is lower on declaration basis after the event.
  7. Accommodation: NISM will provide accommodation to the shortlisted students at its Patalganga Campus on September 7, 2018. NISM will also arrange for transport to and fro NISM Office in Vashi (reporting venue) and the campus. NISM will provide food and refreshments during the stay and during the event.
  8. Accompanier: Shortlisted students may be accompanied by one faculty member from their institute to the final round in NISM. The faculty member will be provided accommodation, food and refreshments in the campus. However, the faculty member will not be eligible for reimbursement of travel. In case of multiple students participating from the same institute, only one faculty member from the institute will be provided accommodation. Other faculty members (in excess of one), project guides or family members accompanying the shortlisted students will be provided accommodation and food for a charge. Such accompaniers will not be eligible for reimbursement of travel.
  9. More information on the final round will be communicated to the shortlisted students.
  10. NISM reserves the right to cancel or postpone all or part of the Competition in case of unforeseen / unfavorable conditions. In such case of cancellation, the shortlisted students will not be eligible for reimbursement of travel or accommodation.
