Mr. Gurumoorthy Mahalingam is a Whole Time Member (Executive Board Member) of Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) looking after Corporate Finance Department, Foreign Portfolio Investors, Investigations Departments and the Office of Investor Assistance and Education.

Prior to the current assignment, Mr Mahalingam was an Executive Director in the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) looking after the Market operations, both Rupee liquidity and FX operations. In his stint of 34 years with RBI, he has taken on varied roles like Chief Forex Dealer, Chief Investment Dealer for Forex Reserves Management, Head of Debt Management. He has also been actively involved in regulation and development of Money, Bond and Foreign Exchange and Derivative markets in India. His prior assignments in RBI include Bank Examiner as also a Member of Teaching Faculty in RBI's Officers' Training College.

He is a Masters Degree holder in Statistics and Operations Research from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur and M.B.A in International Banking and Finance from the Birmingham Business School, UK.


Shri Jena started his career with SBI as a Probationary Officer of 1985 batch. During the 34 years of his service with the bank, he has wide-ranging experience in areas like Retail Banking, International Banking and Credit & Treasury. Some of his previous assignments include General Manager, Hyderabad Circle and also as Vice President (Treasury), Sydney Branch. Before his current appointment as the Deputy Managing Director Global Markets he was the Chief General Manager, Global Markets at Corporate Centre, Mumbai.


Prof. Sethu Gururajan obtained his education from IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIM Ahmedabad. After his doctorate from IIM Ahmedabad, he served at XLRI, UTI Institute of Capital Markets, NISM and IIM Tiruchirappalli. At present he is an Adjunct Professor at Kautilya Entrepreneurship and Management Institute (KEMI), Jain Group of Institutions, Bengaluru.

He has over forty years of experience in administration, management education and governance. He has served in government and been associated with Indian securities markets for many years. He was a visiting professor at IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Indore for over a decade.

His interests lie in corporate finance, financial markets and entrepreneurship.


Asha Shetty is presently the Chief General Manager of Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and is in charge of Department of Debt and Hybrid Securities presently. The Department is responsible for matters related to Corporate Bonds, listed debt securities, Real Estate Investment Trust, Infrastructure Investment Trust, and complaints in respect of aforementioned areas of work.

Asha has been working with SEBI for more than 23 years and has worked in most of the major departments in SEBI including mutual funds, stock exchange administration, Intermediaries Department dealing with registration, policy and inspections of intermediaries, Investigation Department, Vigilance Department and Internal Inspection Department.

Asha has done MBA in Finance from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai University, one of the leading institutes in India.


He is an engineer with a Masters in Management Studies. He has about 25 years of experience in financial services covering a wide gamut of areas of Corporate Finance, Investment Banking , Treasury , Funds Management and General Management. After a brief stint at SBI Capital Markets and ITC Bhadrachalam Finance he joined the Kotak Mahindra group in 1994. He worked with the Kotak Mahindra group for over 20 years with the last 15 years at Kotak Mahindra Asset Management Company; first as a Fund Manager and later as its Chief executive Officer. In his long career their Fund received numerous awards and accolades for the Best Fund Manager , Best Fund and the award for Business Leadership. He was the Vice Chairman of the Association of Mutual Funds and was also on the Board of Kotak Mahindra Pension Fund. Throughout his stint he interacted with SEBI helping world class processes especially the valuation of securities.

After about 25 years of experience in financial services in 2014, he became an Angel investor advising and mentoring startups in different sectors of Telecom, Data analytics, E commerce, Healthcare and Education. He is also participating in the space of Impact Investments. He is also keen to impart his knowledge of financial services to young minds. He is now the IMC Pavinchandra V Gandhi Chair Professor in Banking & Finance at Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of management Studies. As a Chair professor he teaches management graduates as also undertake research and training. They have recently trained over 5000 undergraduate students from Maharashtra Colleges in Financial Literacy. They propose to continue this activity every year. He is also pursuing his Phd in Financial services and would shortly begin his research. He is also currently holding the following positions:

Dr. Soumya Kanti Ghosh is Group Chief Economic Advisor, State Bank of India. Previously, he has worked at the Tata AIA, American Express and ICRA among others. Dr. Ghosh was a member of an Independent Committee set up by the Government on suggesting ways to capture employment data in India. He serves as a member of the Indian Banks’ Association’s Monetary Policy Group and also provided inputs to Reserve Bank of India’s Expert Committee to Revise and Strengthen the Monetary Policy Framework. Dr. Ghosh is also a member of ALM Committee, Product Committee and Risk Management Committee of the Board at SBI. In 2018, Dr. Ghosh has been ranked as one of the Best Individuals in Research in India by the Asset magazine. He has authored several publications on the Indian economy and recently co-authored chapter in 2 books: (a) a chapter entitled “in ASEAN –India Developed and Co-operation Report,2015 published by Routledge and (b) a chapter entitled “revisiting Global Governance” in Global Economic Cooperation, 2015 published by Springer. Dr. Ghosh received his PhD in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University.


Mr. N. S. Venkatesh is currently the Chief Executive of Association of Mutual Funds in India. He has over three decades of experience in the banking sector including over two decades in managing Treasury and International Banking. In addition, he has experience in matters relating to Finance, Risk Management, Information Technology, Accounting Standards, Audit & Assurance as well as Bank Taxation. In addition, he is an expert in Bank Strategy, Mergers & Acquisitions and Turnaround of Banks.

Prior to joining AMFI, he was the Executive Director on the Board of Lakshmi Vilas Bank, a mid-sized retail Bank. Prior to that he served in Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI) for over 19 years, where he held several senior positions, including that of the Chief Financial Officer and the Executive Director. He had lead a team which set up the Stressed Asset Stabilization Fund for managing the NPLs of IDBI, the first of its kind in India. He led the team which transformed IDBI from a Development Financial Institution to an Universal Bank. He lead the team which merged IDBI Bank with IDBI and also merged United Western Bank with IDBI Bank.

Mr. Venkatesh was a member of Technical Advisory Committee of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Money Market, Securities Market & Foreign Exchange from 2011 to 2016. He was also the Chairman of Fixed Income, Money Markets & Derivatives Association (FIMMDA) during the same period and Management Committee Member of Foreign Exchange Dealers’ Association of India (FEDAI).

Mr. Venkatesh was a member of the following Committees constituted by RBI.

1.Technical Committee on Services / Facilities to Exporters.
2.Committee on Financial Benchmark.
3.Working Group on Interest Rate Options.

Mr. Venkatesh is a Member of two Committees of SEBI viz, Mutual Funds Advisory Committee as well as Corporate Bond & Securitization Advisory Committee. He is also a Member of the Working Group to Review Regulatory and Supervisory Framework for Core Investment Companies constituted by RBI.

He is a Member of the Government of Maharashtra Advisory Committee to advise Chief Minister of Maharashtra on Cash Management and Government borrowing. He is also a Member of the Hon. Chief Minister of Maharashtra Advisory Council on Fintech. He is also a Co-opted Member of the Committee on Capital Markets & Investors Protection, a non-standing committee, of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

Mr. Venkatesh is also a Director on the Board of NSDL Payments Bank Limited, Indel Money Private Limited, Clearcorp Dealing Systems (India) Limited, International Investment Funds Association (IIFA), Canada, Omkara Assets Reconstruction Pvt. Ltd. and Dharmistha Mithran (a Charitable Institution).

Mr. Venkatesh is a regular speaker at various fora and also on media in matters relating to bond and forex markets, treasury management, monetary policy, mutual funds etc.Mr. Venkatesh used to contribute a weekly column on Bond Market for DNA Money.

Mr. Venkatesh is a Chartered Accountant from the 1984 batch and a Science Graduate from Kerala University. He has done Diploma in Management & Financial Services and is also a Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers, Mumbai.


Rachana is Vice President of National Stock Exchange of India Limited, which is currently ranked the world’s second largest exchange in Cash Market Trades. She is responsible for all India business development initiatives of NSE for listing of Small and Medium Enterprises - SME’s on the bourse. She is Post Graduate in financial management and Commerce and Law graduate with nearly 20 years of experience of working with NSE. In her earlier roles at NSE she has handled functions like Listing, Investigation, Member Supervision and Clearing Corporation Operations. She is also the Vice Chairperson of the World Federation of Exchanges – SME Working Group.


Himanshu Aggarwal is the Executive Director and CFO of Tara Chand Logistic Solutions Ltd, an entity listed on NSE EMERGE platform. Himanshu was instrumental in driving the IPO process and listing of the company on NSE EMERGE on 23rd March 2018. As Executive Director, Himanshu is responsible for business and client relationship development for the company's key vertical of Construction Equipment Rental & Turnkey Projects in the infrastructure development of the country. He has guided the vertical towards exponential growth over the last two years. As CFO of the company, he is responsible for maintaining financial prudence in all respects.
