The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) is a public trust established in 2006 by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the regulator of the securities markets in India. The institute carries out a wide range of capacity building activities at various levels aimed at enhancing the quality standards in securities markets.

National Institute of Securities Market (NISM) and the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) have agreed to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish academic cooperation between the two premier institutes in the following areas of focus:

– Financial Market Regulation

– Corporate Law

– Investment Law

– Corporate Governance

– Cyber Crimes and financial forensics

This MoU between NISM and NLSIU envisions academic collaboration towards advancement of knowledge on the basis of reciprocity, best effort, mutual benefit and frequent interactions.

NISM and NLSIU shall collaborate to:
(a) Offer joint courses on securities law and financial regulation and other areas as may be mutually agreed. 
(b) Engage in capacity building training programmes for different target groups.
(c) To develop courseware on topics of expertise and.
(d) Develop case studies and engage in joint research.


NISM and NLSUI will also collaborate in other academic activities and disseminate knowledge through joint workshops and conferences.
