NISM has conducted a Programme on Securities Markets for IRS Officer-Trainees of National Academy of Direct Taxes (NADT), Nagpur at NISM Patalganga Campus during November 20-22, 2019. A total of 157 Officer Trainees have attended the programme.

All participants were taken to visit different brokers were familiarized with how trading happens, surveillance of markers, understanding of contract notes and explanation of statutory charges. For this study visit, many broking houses like Angel Broking, Edelweiss securities, HDFC securities, ICICI securities, JM Financials, Sharekhan securities, SHICL Services, Ventura Securities, Motilal Oswal securities and SBICAP securities accommodated IRS officer-trainees.

On the second day, all participants were taken to National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Securities Board of India (SEBI). In NSE, session on functions of exchange and clearing and settlement were taken by Mr. Sijo Eluvathingal, Associate Vice President – NSCCL. In SEBI, session of Role & Functions of SEBI were taken by Mr. Jitendra Kumar, DGM, SEBI.

Class-room sessions on Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 was taken by Mr. Krishnan Viswanathan, Chief Executive Officer, Kris Consulting and session on National Company Law Tribunal was taken by Ms. Dipti Mehta, Director – Mehta & Mehta Legal and Advisory Services Private Limited. Session of Trading in Simulation Lab were taken by Mr. Meraj Inamdar, Lecturer, NISM.

The valedictory address was given by Mr. S. K. Mohanty, Director – NISM (WTM – SEBI). Mr. Sunil Kadam, Registrar, NISM Mr. V. R. Narasimhan, Dean – SRSS & SCG were also present. Mr. Vinod Kumar Agrawal, Addl. Director and Course Director of NADT and Chinmaya N Korgaonkar and Mayank Mishra, faculties of NADT were given NISM mementos. All IRS Officer-trainees were awarded with Certificate of Participation. The training programmes was liked and appreciated by all.
