The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) is a public trust established in 2006 by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the regulator of the securities markets in India. The institute carries out a wide range of capacity building activities at various levels aimed at enhancing the quality standards in securities markets.

A session was delivered by Shri. Sunil Kadam, Registrar, NISM on August 31, 2021 at N. L. Dalmia Institute of Management Studies and Research. The Session was delivered on the topic “Role of SEBI in the evolving stock market”. 

He briefed the students about the development of securities markets, the major reforms undertaken by SEBI to develop securities markets, settlement process, derivatives markets, commodities markets etc. He also covers the basic concepts of Securities Markets and the significance of Securities Markets in India. 

Students were also brief about the certifications and long term programs offered by NISM. The session was interactive and students asked various questions and showed a keen interest in learning new areas in securities Markets. The session was attended by around 150 students. Prof. Vijay Ramchandran, Director, NLDIMSR, Prof. Tarun Agarwal, HoD, Finance, NLDIMSR, Prof. Jai Kotech, Faculty Member, NLDIMSR were also present during the session.
