Program Objective
The objective of this program is to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of SEBI’s Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR) framework and its assurance. Participants will gain insights into the evolution of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reporting regulations in India, the fundamentals of SEBI’s BRSR, and the alignment of BRSR Core. Additionally, the program will cover the requirements, standards, and best practices of ESG assurance, equipping participants with the knowledge to ensure compliance and enhance the credibility of their sustainability reports.

Profile of speakers
1. Anand S. Kulkarni:
Anand is a Technical Director in the ESG practice of KPMG in India. He is a ESG professional with close to 30 years of experience across ESG strategy, ESG reporting advisory and independent assurance, ESG due diligence, climate change and GHG accounting, sustainable finance, ethical supply chain and EHS management systems etc.
He is well versed with the Indian and Global ESG reporting frameworks and is also a certified trainer on the sustainability reporting standards.
Anand is a post-graduate in environmental science and engineering from IIT Bombay, and holds diploma in industrial safety. He is a Fellow and Chartered Engineer (Env) of the Institution of Engineers (India), and life member of the Central Industrial Hygiene Association of India. He is also a member of the environmental and social panel of CII-Karnataka and has contributed as speaker at various business and academic forums.
2. Dr Meraj Inamdar
Dr. Meraj Inamdar has been a faculty member at the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) since 2015, where he specializes in teaching ESG integration, sustainability disclosure standards, data science and sustainable finance. He is has conducted several webinars on topics such as BRR (Business Responsibility Reporting), BRSR (Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting), and ESG integration. Before joining NISM, Mr. Inamdar held positions at the Indian Institute of Capital Markets, the Institute of Cost Accountants of India chapter, and the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT-Bombay). His educational background includes a Master’s degree in Commerce (M.Com), an MBA with a specialization in Finance, and he holds a PhD in the field of ESG integration from the University of Mumbai, with two best research paper awards received at international conferences.
