“Investor Awareness Hackathon 2023” is an open competition for thousands of enthusiasts who seek to disrupt the current method of disseminating investor awareness amongst investors. The objective of this hackathon is to look forward to various innovative mechanisms through which the investors can be made aware and educated to handle their personal finances responsibly and invest with knowledge.
An educated investor is an asset to the Nation. In this purview, SEBI has always taken measures to increase securities market awareness amongst the investors. This era of digitization and involvement of artificial intelligence (AI) in each and every sphere, calls for looking at different innovative ways to spread information amongst investors and for identifying new ways of creating investor awareness.
The theme of the hackathon is “Informed and Educated Investor”. The developed tool, mechanism or idea should facilitate in infusing the securities market awareness amongst the general public with wider reach in cost effective manner.
The Problem Statements:
Problem Statement I – Incubating rational investment behavior amongst investors using AI/technology.
Problem Statement II – New and innovative measures of conducting investor awareness at mass level through new age communication medium including social media/digital channels for all sections of the society.
The activity will be divided in two phases:
In the first phase of preliminary screening/evaluation, the participants are required to submit their ideas/proposals through online mode. The proposal can be in the form of a word/pdf document and/or along with an audio/visual file (of not more than 5 minutes) that explains the idea in a detailed timelines.
In the second phase, shortlisted ideas/teams will be given a period of one month to work upon their ideas and create a prototype or present their solutions to the stated problems to the jury who will evaluate and select the winners and the runner-ups. This will be based on different parameters —extent of innovation, technology, demonstration, Cost efficiency, ease of use etc. The second phase of this activity will be conducted at NISM’s Patalganga campus.
1. The winner of the first prize will be felicitated with INR 1,00,000/-, the first runner up with INR 75,000/- and the second runner up with INR 50,000/- for each problem statement.
2. All the participants will get participation certificate.
