(NISM)

The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) is a public trust established in 2006 by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the regulator of the securities markets in India. The institute carries out a wide range of capacity building activities at various levels aimed at enhancing the quality standards in securities markets.

Social Impact Assessors

A Social Impact Assessor in India is an individual registered with a Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO) under the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI), or the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). To qualify, they must have completed a certification program conducted by the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM). These assessors play a crucial role in evaluating and verifying the social impact of enterprises listed on the Social Stock Exchange (SSE). Their assessments ensure transparency and accountability, thereby enhancing investor confidence in the social sector. SEBI’s regulations mandate that these assessors adhere to specific standards and guidelines to maintain the integrity of social impact reporting.
