Plagiarism and AI Screening Procedure

Plagiarism

All submissions will be screened through Turnitin. The similarity index will be computed after excluding quoted material reproduced with attribution, references and bibliography, tables of contents, and generic terms, standard symbols, and standard equations, consistent with prevailing standards across academic conferences and journals.

The similarity index for the paper must be less than 20%. Any value greater than 20% is grounds for desk rejection.

Zero-tolerance passages: verbatim or near-verbatim overlap in the abstract, hypotheses, results, conclusions, or recommendations will be treated as serious irrespective of the overall percentage.

Self-plagiarism: substantial reuse of the authors’ own previously published text without attribution is treated as text recycling. Authors must cite their prior work and clearly state what is new in the present submission.

AI Indicator

Turnitin’s AI-writing indicator may be consulted as one input among several. Consistent with the tool provider’s own guidance and common practice, a HIGH AI-writing score will be a signal for further human review of the AI content. After thorough human review of the level of probable AI generated content and considering the AI disclosure statement (explained in the next section), a decision will be made to reject the paper if the levels are found to be irrationally high for academic standard. The decision of the reviewer and the conference committee on this matter will be final and binding.

The authors are recommended to prepare the manuscript such that the percentage of AI generated content (including paraphrasing and language polishing) is reasonably on the LOWER side.

Criteria for Selection of Papers and Awards

  1. Only papers submitted by the deadline will be considered.
  2. The papers must strictly adhere to the themes outlined in the call for papers.
  3. More weightage will be given to the papers that offer suggestions for achieving and enhancing SEBI’s broader objectives, namely protecting investors’ interests in securities, promoting the development of the securities market, regulating it, and addressing related or incidental matters.
  4. Decision of selection committee on acceptance/ rejection of the paper will be final.
  5. An amount of ₹10,000 will be awarded per selected paper to the author (to the first author only, if the paper is co-authored).
