The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) is a public trust established in 2006 by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the regulator of the securities markets in India. The institute carries out a wide range of capacity building activities at various levels aimed at enhancing the quality standards in securities markets.

Important points:

Students need to complete all the above mandatory certifications within the deadlines indicated in the program calendar. The examination fees for the aforementioned mandatory certifications will be borne by the individual candidates.

Learning Environment and Pedagogical Approach

The pedagogy of this program will be practice-oriented with the objective of bringing real-life perspectives alongside giving a robust conceptual foundation to the students. The curriculum is designed in consultation with the industry to ensure that the curriculum is in line with the current Industry practices and requirements.

The program will be delivered through a learner-centric approach using various pedagogical tools including case studies, and hands-on training on widely used databases and software like, Bloomberg, Prowess, and others. NISM, with its proximity to the policy-makers and the industry, draws upon the cream of academia and industry providing cutting-edge inputs in the securities markets domain.

Lectures and hands-on workshop sessions will be conducted by eminent faculty, industry leaders and experts. Students will gain inputs and industry insights from a team of academicians, market experts, and policymakers. There will also be regular interactions with practicing professionals.

The learning environment is further stimulated by an industry interface, finance lab with modern technological infrastructure, state-of-the-art campus, extensive library and other recreation facilities, book reviews, films related to Wall Street and experience-sharing sessions with industry experts complement the learning process.

Industry Interface

The Institute also organizes visits to exchanges/depositories/market intermediaries etc. providing exposure to the industry paradigm. NISM also invites a number of practitioners from the industry to interact with the participants to share their experiences. These platforms provide opportunities for the participants to develop keen insights into Industry practices and nuances.

Bloomberg Terminal

Participants will have an opportunity to get hands-on experience in financial data analysis and market research. The Bloomberg terminal, which is widely used by financial professionals around the world is available at the NISM library. Students learn to navigate the Bloomberg platform, access real-time financial data, and perform in-depth analysis of market trends and securities.

Extensive Library

The Institute boasts one of the biggest specialized libraries for Finance, which holds a rich collection of over 10000 books on securities markets, domestic and international magazines, newspapers, journals, etc. Through Science-Direct, the library provides access to all leading academic journals in Finance, Economics, Business, and Management.

State-of-the-art Campus

NISM’s campus at Patalganga spread over 72 acres of land on the scenic Mumbai-Pune Expressway has state-of-the-art infrastructure that creates an ideal environment conducive for contemplative learning. The eco-friendly campus is Wi-Fi enabled and features well-equipped classrooms, a modern auditorium, and a vast amphitheater. The campus also has impressive residential blocks with separate hostel facilities for male and female participants.

Recreation Facilities

The participants enjoy the luxury of modern recreation facilities like a swimming pool, squash court, gymnasium with modern equipment, table tennis, badminton halls, yoga hall, cafeteria etc., The recreation blocks pose a refreshing environment offering a balance to the academic rigor of the program.

Selection Procedure

Stage I Online Registration for PGPISM Admission 2026-27 (Batch-III), NISM

  • (i) NISM invites online applications for admission to the  PGPISM 2026–27 (Batch-III).
  • (ii) Registration will start on December 30, 2025 (1730 Hrs.) and the last date of online registration will be on April 03, 2026 (2359 Hrs).
  • (iii) Candidates need to create their Login ID (USERNAME & PASSWORD) for online registration at https://apply.nism.ac.in/pgpism-application-form. Upon successful registration, a User-ID and Password will be sent to registered email ID and mobile number of the candidate.
  • (iv) Candidates need to submit an application/admission data form along with a non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred Only).
  • (v) Applications in any other mode will not be accepted.

Stage II Eligibility cum Shortlisting Criteria

Interested applicants who fulfil the below-mentioned eligibility criteria are required to register for the PGPISM 2026-27 (Batch-III) via the registration link https://apply.nism.ac.in/pgpism-application-form.

Applicants for admission to the programme will be shortlisted on the basis of their scores in ANY of the following entrance examinations:

To apply for the Post Graduate Programme in Investments and Securities Markets (PGPISM), applicants must meet at least one of the following eligibility pathways:

I. Academic Qualification + Work Experience (Primary Route) – A

  • • A Three-Year Bachelor’s Degree (in any discipline excluding performing arts) from a recognised university
  • AND
  • • A minimum of 2 years of full-time work experience after graduation at Junior Management cadre in a Corporate or BFSI (Banking, Financial Services and Insurance) organization. Hence the candidate applying for Batch 2026 must have completed the graduation in the year 2024 or before.

Academic Qualification + Work Experience (Primary Route) – B

  • • A four-year Bachelor’s degree (in any discipline excluding performing arts) from a recognised university
  • AND
  • • A minimum of 1 years of full-time work experience after graduation at Junior Management cadre in a Corporate or BFSI (Banking, Financial Services and Insurance) organization. Hence the candidate applying for Batch 2026 must have completed the graduation in the year 2025 or before.

II. Academic Qualification (Advanced Route)

  • • A Master’s Degree (in any discipline excluding performing Arts) or 5/6 year Integrated LLB (BA/BCom/BBA/BTech – LLB) from a recognised university.
  • • Work experience preferred but not mandatory.

III. Academic Qualification + Professional Certification (Professional Route)

Selection to the program will be through the screening of applications based on applications based on Academic Records including professional experience/qualification. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an online Personal interview (PI).

Note:

  • (i) Work experience should be full-time one or two years (12 or 24 Months) as applicable, after completion of graduation on the date of application.
  • (ii) Professional certifications should be cleared as level mentioned on the date of application.
  • (iii) Candidates who are likely to complete Post-Graduation, 5/6 year Integrated-LLB, LLB, BE/BTech or equivalent before the 01st of June, 2026 may also apply, subject to meeting the minimum eligibility criteria. If selected, such candidates will be offered admission to the programme provisionally. At the time of registration for the programme, such candidates must produce X and XII and Graduation, 5/6 year Integrated-LLB, LLB, BE, BTech mark sheets (securing minimum 50% marks) along with school leaving certificate/migration certificate, failing which the candidate’s admission offer may stand cancelled.

Stage III Online Personal Interview (PI)

  • (i) Shortlisted candidates from Stage-II will appear in Stage-III i.e Online Personal Interview (PI).
  • (ii) All shortlisted candidates will be informed by Email or download their call letters to appear in the Online Personal Interview. All the required details like date, time and other guidelines will be mentioned in the call letter.
  • (iii) Eligible candidates will receive an Email for the Online Personal Interview process for PGPISM Admissions 2026-27 (Batch-III).

Stage IV Final Selection List Based on Entrance Score, Online Personal Interview & Diversity Scores

  • (i) The offer of admission to the candidate will be made strictly on the basis of merit/ rank list.
  • (ii) The Merit List will be generated based on the valid composite score of Online Personal Interview (PI), Past Academics, Work Experience and Gender Diversity. The merit list for the admissions is prepared as per the weightage given below:

Stage V Provisional Admission to PGPISM 2026-27 (Batch-II).

  • (i) Only selected candidates will receive a provisional offer letter for admission from apu@nism.ac.in on their registered email ID shortly after the declaration of the merit list. A candidate receiving an admission offer from NISM and accepting the offer within the stipulated date needs to deposit Rs. 2,82,490/– as the OAA
    i.e. Offer Acceptance Amount (or as mentioned in the Offer Letter).
  • (ii) An automated receipt and a text message of the transaction will be shared by the associated bank on the registered email id/ mobile no. of the candidate.
  • (iii) On acceptance of the admission offer and payment of OAA, the candidate will receive his/her confirmation letter for provisional admission to PGPISM 2026–27 (Batch-III) on his/her registered email ID. The paid OAA will be adjusted with the First Year Programme Fee. Such candidates will be required to pay the 1st instalment of the First Year Programme Fee (as mentioned in the confirmation letter). If a candidate fails to pay the 1st instalment of First Year Programme Fees by the stipulated date mentioned in the admission confirmation letter, the seat will be cancelled.

Stage VI Reporting for joining the PGPISM 2026-27 (Batch III).

  • (i) Final selected candidates who have deposited OAA and got a confirmation letter for provisional admission will be required to report physically (on the stipulated date and time) on the Institute campus for registration, followed by physical verification of educational documents and other testimonials as per checklist shared on later stage.
  • (ii) The Academic Session will tentatively begin from June 01, 2026.
  • (iii) The hostel room allocation to the candidate will be done on a sharing basis. Hostel rooms for the DAP candidates will be arranged on the ground floor or first floor (preferably). The fee structure for Accommodation and Dining Fee for the PGPISM 2026-27 (Batch-III) is provided below

# AC accommodation on a twin-sharing basis. Centralized AC will be available between 9:00 pm to 06:00 am only.

Note: Students are required to vacate the hostel during the internship period. Accordingly, hostel charges for this period have been excluded from the above fee. In case a student wishes to stay in the campus during the internship period, he/she has to bear additional charges for the same.

  • (i) Comfortable hostel accommodation, separate for boys and girls, is available in the campus.
  • (ii) Hostel Fee (Accommodation and Dining Charges) once paid by a student will not be refunded under any circumstances
  • (iii) The hostels are well equipped with all the modern amenities and are under the charge of caring and experienced Wardens.
  • (iv) NISM Dining Hall and Cafeteria: A spacious well lit and well ventilated cafeteria in the campus serves sumptuous and healthy food to the students. The variety of dishes which are both healthy and tasty and are crafted by a team of professional dieticians to ensure a well-balanced diet.
  • (v) NISM Recreational Facilities: NISM has a world class sports complex and extensive sports facilities. NISM offers ample opportunities to students for a regular work-out and lifestyle management by providing a host of excellent sports facilities. It has facilities for games like cricket, basketball and volleyball as well as indoor games like chess, carom, table-tennis, badminton, etc. A Gymnasium and a swimming pool is also available for students to enhance their fitness levels.
  • (vi) Medical Facilities: NISM provides Student Safety Insurance and a visiting doctor within the Campus. Ambulance facility (on call) is available in the Campus in case of any emergency.
  • (vii) Laundry facilities are available on payment basis at our campus.

Refund Policy PGPISM 2026-27 (Batch-III).

(i) The last date for any withdrawal of provisional admission will be ‘On or before the Registration’ (online/ on campus, as the case may be). The entire fees received from the student, after deduction of the processing fee of Rs. 1000/- (one thousand only), will be refunded to the candidate by the mode of bank transfer to the candidate’s own savings bank account provided by the candidate. The refund requests will be accepted only through the institute’s admission portal, i.e. https://apply.nism.ac.in/pgpism- application-form

No refund requests will be entertained after registration or the date and time mentioned in the offer letter for provisional admission.

PGP in Investments & Securities Market is a one-year full-time residential program offered at NISM campus at Patalganga near Mumbai.

Students get exposure to varied subjects and verticals related to banking and securities markets including Corporate Finance, Economics, Wealth Management, Equity Valuation, Fixed Income Securities, Derivatives & Risk Management, Investment Banking, etc.

The PGPISM program consists of four terms. The first term consists of seven courses, second and third term consists of six courses and the fourth term with industry project offering opportunities to work in the live market environment.

Q6 I am in the final year of Graduation and waiting for my results. Can I apply?

Yes, as long as you fulfill the aforementioned eligibility criteria (with final mark sheets and final certificates issued by the respective institutions.

Q7 Is there any upper age limit for this Program?

There is no upper age limit for admission to this program.

Q8  Can I avail accommodation outside of NISM Patalganga Campus at my own expense and pursue the PGPISM program?

PGPISM is a one-year full-time residential program and hence all students have to mandatorily stay on campus throughout the duration of the program.

The mandatory stay is also applicable to candidates domiciled locally (including but not limited to Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Pune, etc.).

To ensure decorum and discipline all students will have to follow the rules and regulations communicated to them by the competent authorities from time to time throughout the duration of the program.

Q9 Since stay is mandatory does NISM campus have in-house mess serving food?

NISM Patalganga Campus has full-service mess facilities serving both vegetarian as well as non- vegetarian food at pre-defined hours.

Please note that menu will remain the same for all students and cannot be customized. Students are not allowed to prepare their own food on NISM Campus.

The cost of food is included in the fee structure under the head ‘mess charges’ and is mandatorily payable by all students.

Q10 What is the Total Fee for this Program including Accommodation and Dining Fee?

The Tuition Fee for the PGPISM is Rs. 3,37,680/-

The Accommodation and Dining Fee is Rs.2,03,200/-

Q11 Are there any scholarships or educational loan tie-ups for the PGPISM program?

NISM NEITHER provides any scholarships NOR any educational loans through tie-ups for the PGPISM program.

Q12 Is there a Fee Refund Policy?

Yes, Terms and Conditions regarding the Fee Refund Policy are explained in detail on page 19 of the Admission Prospectus.

Q13 My organization/employer is willing to sponsor PGPISM program. How do I proceed with the admissions?

Organizations willing to sponsor candidates may approach us directly at apu@nism.ac.in . The employers should furnish an undertaking to grant study leave to the employee for one year. Following government/ autonomous organizations may also encourage their employees to pursue the PGPISM program:

  • Government Departments / Public Sector Undertaking
  • Banks / NBFCs recognized by RBI
  • Public Companies or Trusts registered with SEBI
  • Insurance Companies/Intermediaries recognized by IRDA
Q14 How can I apply for the Program?

Candidates willing to apply should register themselves on https://apply.nism.ac.in/pgpism-application- form

Step 1: New Registration: Upon successful registration, a User-ID and Password will be sent to the registered email ID and mobile number of the candidate.

Step 2: Application process: Thereafter, candidates are required to log in and complete the application process by paying the application fee. After making the payment of the application fee of Rs. 500/- the candidates may submit their application

Q15 What is the selection process for admission to this Program?

Selection to the Program will be through screening of applications based on Academic records including professional experience/ qualification, extra curricular activities, and prior experience.

Shortlisted candidates will be called for an online interview.

Candidates qualified in the online interviews will be offered admission to PGPISM.

Q16 What are the important dates for the application?

Q17 What is the medium of instruction during the Program?

The medium of instruction for all classes, examinations, quizzes, and assignments is English. Hence candidates need to be conversant with verbal and written communication in English.

Q18 Is there placement assistance?

Yes, being a one-year full-time residential program placement assistance will be provided for all the students.

NISM’s close connection with the industry will act as an enabler to facilitate the placement of students. The institute assists in the placement of the students by inviting reputed organizations in the investment and securities markets domain to the campus placement drive.

The students are groomed to perform challenging and exciting roles in the investment and securities markets. The alumni of various other programs offered by NISM have been inducted into leading and reputed organizations.

Q19 Currently, I am not in India, can I pursue the PGPISM program online? Is distance learning available for PGPISM?

Since the program structure is one-year full-time residential, remotely pursuing the program is NOT possible.

Q20 How will the students be evaluated during the program?

Evaluation will be at the course level in each Trimester which will include

A) Continuous Internal Evaluation (during the course)

The evaluation may include one or more of the following:

  • Case Study Discussions
  • Quiz/ class test
  • Individual and/or Group Assignments (along with presentations)
  • Class Participation

B) End-term Evaluation (at the end of the course)

  • Offline Assessment (Paper-pencil test) /Online written examination in proctored mode

Q22 Are fees related to any other NISM certification included in the program fees?

NO, fees related to mandatory NISM certifications are NOT included in program fees.

Q23 Is the PGPISM program also valid as a master’s degree?

Please note that the PGPISM program is neither recognized as a master’s degree or its equivalent under any University, UGC, or AICTE Regulations nor is it accredited under any University, UGC, or AICTE Regulation.

Q24 Is the syllabus of PGPISM the same as NISM Certifications?

PGPISM will be offered as a residential program from the NISM Campus, Patalganga wherein NISM’s in- house faculties, industry experts, and senior officers from SEBI, Stock Exchanges, etc. are invited for interactive & engaging sessions followed by continuous assessments (quizzes, assignments, presentations, etc.) and end term exams.

Hence the syllabus, scope, and coverage of the PGPISM program is much more comprehensive than NISM certifications. For course details and coverage refer to program architecture from page 10 and 11 of the prospectus.

The placement assistance and NISM’s track record are an added advantage for young aspiring students to kick-start their careers in Investments and Securities Markets.

Q25 Indicative remuneration in CTC terms of past students (for reference only)

In our past programs, such as the two-year full-time AICTE-approved residential PGDM(SM) program, students bagged an average CTC of 7.6 LPA, and the maximum CTC was 13.67 LPA, based on their performance.

Q26 I am a working professional. Will I be able to pursue the PGPISM Program?

Please note that PGPISM is a one-year full-time residential program conducted only from the NISM campus at Patalganga near Mumbai. Hence, participants are expected to reside in the campus and attend the regular classes. As a working professional, if your organization sponsors you or allows you a study leave/sabbatical for one year, you can pursue the program, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria and selection..
