Mr. Sanjay C. Purao has 30 years’ experience in securities market and has served in various capacities in SEBI. He is presently heading Office of Investor Assistance and Education (OIAE), Internal Inspection Department (IID) and matters relating to National Institute of Securities Market (NISM).

His past assignments include significant policy and operational matters relating to Takeovers, issuance and trading of debt, equity, IPOs, portfolio management, and market regulations.

He has also been a member of various domestic policy making and advisory committees as well as international committees, dealing with areas of mutual interest and cooperation with International Regulators.

Mr. Purao has done his Masters in Management Studies and is an Engineering graduate from the University of Mumbai.
