The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) is a public trust established in 2006 by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the regulator of the securities markets in India. The institute carries out a wide range of capacity building activities at various levels aimed at enhancing the quality standards in securities markets.

The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) formally inaugurated the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Securities Markets) – PGDM (SM) 2026–28 on 13 July 2026 at the NISM Campus, Patalganga, marking the commencement of a new academic journey for the incoming batch.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Shri. Sashi Krishnan, Director, NISM; Ms. Yogita Jadhav, Registrar; Dr. Rachana Baid, Dean – Academics; along with distinguished faculty members whose rich academic expertise and extensive industry experience reflected the Institute’s commitment to academic excellence.

The welcome address by Dr. Ashique Ali, Program Director, presented a comprehensive overview of the PGDM (SM) programme, outlining its vision, academic structure, curriculum, and key learning outcomes. He introduced the incoming batch, comprising 131 students from diverse academic and professional backgrounds. The batch consists of 75% male and 25% female students, with nearly 30% bringing prior work experience.

Dr. Rachana Baid, Dean (Academics), highlighted the programme’s unique blend of rigorous academic learning, experiential learning, industry engagement, and professional certifications, designed to equip students with the knowledge, practical exposure, and competencies required for successful careers in the securities markets and the broader financial services industry.

Ms. Yogita Jadhav, Registrar, NISM, encouraged students to make the most of the programme’s industry-focused curriculum and urged them to remain curious, disciplined, and committed to continuous learning throughout their academic journey.

In his inaugural address, Shri. Sashi Krishnan, Director, NISM, spoke about India’s strong economic growth and the expanding opportunities within the securities markets. He emphasized that rapid technological advancements, increasing investor participation, and a robust regulatory framework are reshaping the financial landscape. He encouraged students to develop strong analytical capabilities, cultivate a research-driven mindset, and embrace lifelong learning to remain relevant in an evolving financial ecosystem.

The programme also included an introduction to NISM’s Faculty Members and Heads of Departments, providing students with an opportunity to interact with the academic leadership and understand the support ecosystem that will guide them throughout their academic journey.

The ceremony concluded with a formal vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to the distinguished dignitaries, faculty members, staff, and students whose presence contributed to the success of the event. A group photograph marked the close of the inaugural ceremony, symbolizing the beginning of an enriching and transformative learning experience for the PGDM (SM) Batch of 2026–28.
