(NISM)

The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) is a public trust established in 2006 by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the regulator of the securities markets in India. The institute carries out a wide range of capacity building activities at various levels aimed at enhancing the quality standards in securities markets.

Mr. N.U Raju is a Deputy General Manager with SEBI, presently on deputation to NISM (since July, 2024) working in Partnership and Marketing Department.

Mr. Raju joined SEBI in 1996 and has an experience of 29 years in various departments of SEBI.  He worked in Investigations Department, General Services Department, RTI & PQ Cell and Recovery and Refund Departments of SEBI.  Prior to joining NISM, he was Recovery Officer at SEBI Western Regional Office, Ahmedabad.

He was on deputation from SEBI to Office of Minister of State, Government of India as Assistant Private Secretary and has worked in the Ministries of Railways, External Affairs, Defence, Consumer Affairs and Rural Development during the period 1999-2004.  Prior to SEBI, he worked in the Ministry of Power, Delhi and the Dept. of Telecommunications, Hyderabad during the period 1989 to 1996.

Mr. Raju is a commerce graduate and also holds a post-graduate degree of MBA (Finance) from IGNOU. He has also participated in the Securities Law Course, Government Law College, Mumbai.
