The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) is a public trust established in 2006 by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the regulator of the securities markets in India. The institute carries out a wide range of capacity building activities at various levels aimed at enhancing the quality standards in securities markets.

Title: Financial Market Regulations and Reforms

Prof. M. Thenmozhi delivered plenary speech at the 3rd International Conference on Financial Markets & Corporate Finance hosted by IIT Kanpur. In her talk she unfolded all the financial reforms that took place over a period of time in Indian financial market. She also explained the implications of these reforms in various domains of finance such as trading, disclosure, corporate governance, constitution of corporate boards, accountability of the directors etc. She also acknowledged the attempts made by the regulator to bring in the awareness through financial education.
