The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) is a public trust established in 2006 by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the regulator of the securities markets in India. The institute carries out a wide range of capacity building activities at various levels aimed at enhancing the quality standards in securities markets.

The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) organized a Faculty Development Programme in Mutual Funds in association with the BSMED, Bharathiar University and Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund. The programme was hosted at the Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, on 4th June 2019. About 100 faculty members and research scholars from colleges affiliated to the University participated in the programme.

Dr. Rupa Gunaseelan (Director i/c, BSMED, Bharathiar University) welcomed the gathering. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. (Mrs.) M Thenmozhi (Director, NISM), Dr. K Murugan (Registrar i/c, Bharathiar University), Shri. K S Rao (Senior Vice President, Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund) and Prof. K Sukumaran (Dean, NISM). The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Barani Sivakumar (Associate Professor, BSMED, Bharathiar University)

The programme featured a rich line-up of technical sessions on various segments of the markets handled by Shri. K S Rao, Prof. K Sukumaran, Shri. Sankar Venkataraman (Trainer) and Shri. Anand Subramanian (Vice President, NISM).

The participants were conferred with Certificates of Participation. The programme ended with valedictory remarks by Dr. Rupa Gunaseelan.
