The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) is a public trust established in 2006 by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the regulator of the securities markets in India. The institute carries out a wide range of capacity building activities at various levels aimed at enhancing the quality standards in securities markets.

National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) marked a notable occasion with the formal inauguration of the second batch of its Post Graduate Program in Investment and Securities Markets (PGPISM) for the academic year 2025–26. The event took place on June 4, 2025, at the NISM Campus in Patalganga.

This one-year, full-time residential program is thoughtfully curated to equip future finance professionals with a deep and practical understanding of investment and financial planning. The program places strong emphasis on ethical standards, domain-specific knowledge, and real-world application, preparing students to become future-ready professionals in the financial services sector.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by several esteemed dignitaries, including Shri. Shashi Krishnan, Director-NISM, Shri. Sunil Kadam, Registrar; Dr. Rachana Baid-Dean- Academics and senior faculty members known for their rich academic backgrounds and industry experience, also joined the occasion and added immense value to the proceedings.

Dr. Kapil Shrimal, Program Director, delivered a detailed orientation highlighting the program’s vision, structure, and academic rigor. He shared insights into the rich diversity of the incoming cohort, comprising 55 enthusiastic students from varied educational and geographical backgrounds.

The PGPISM curriculum spans four intensive academic terms and is aligned with industry needs. It follows a learner-focused pedagogy that includes real-time trading simulations, hands-on projects, access to premium financial tools like Bloomberg, and regular interactions with SEBI officials. This comprehensive approach ensures that students build both theoretical grounding and practical expertise.

Graduates of the program are equipped to pursue careers across diverse segments, including equity, debt, currency, and commodity markets. Career opportunities extend to roles in stock exchanges, clearing corporations, banks, mutual funds, and financial advisory firms. Many graduates go on to become investment advisors, financial planners, and wealth managers.

The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of all dignitaries, faculty, and students who played a role in making the inauguration a meaningful and memorable event.
