The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) is a public trust established in 2006 by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the regulator of the securities markets in India. The institute carries out a wide range of capacity building activities at various levels aimed at enhancing the quality standards in securities markets.

NISM has conducted 3 days Programme on ‘Understanding Indian Securities Markets’ for Senior Officers of ICLS during May 31 – June 2, 2019 at NISM Campus, Patalganga. The programme was inaugurated by Shri G. Mahalingam, WTM, SEBI and Dr. M. Thenmozhi, Director, NISM. The overview of training programme was given by Mr. Jitendra Kumar, Member of Faculty & Programme Director, NISM. A total of 20 Senior Officers of ICLS have attended the programme.

The programme was aimed to make the participants aware about various types of securities market manipulation/frauds, detailed processes of Investigations, Enforcement at SEBI, case laws related to investigation matters, etc.

The programme was a blend of classroom & Hands on sessions. The following areas/topics were covered:
