The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) is a public trust established in 2006 by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the regulator of the securities markets in India. The institute carries out a wide range of capacity building activities at various levels aimed at enhancing the quality standards in securities markets.

Summer School 2019

NISM has conducted Summer School programme for PES University students and Market participants from 6th June to 3rd July, 2019 at NISM Campus, Patalganga. 83 participants from BBA, MBA and Btech programs along with 2 faculty members of PES University have attended the programme.

The programme was inaugurated by Mr.Sunil Kadam, Registrar, NISM and students were addressed by Dr.V. R. Narasimhan, Dean & Professor of Practice on Overview of Indian Financial markets as well as Mr. Narayana Maddala, Senior Vice President, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) & Head, Academic Programme Unit (APU), NISM on the IT facilities and infrastructure in NISM Campus. Programme overview & overview of financial services sector was given by Prof. Latha Chari, Professor Incharge SSIR.

The programme was aimed at making the participants aware about the various topics pertaining to the Securities Markets. The programme was a blend of classroom session & Hands on trading sessions and live project in equity research.

The core faculties of NISM trained the participants on the topics like Overview of Financial Services Sector, Primary and Secondary Markets, Fixed Income Instruments, Financial Statement Analysis, Fundamental Analysis, Technical Analysis, Derivatives, CMIE Prowess, Bloomberg, Valuation Methods, Simulation Lab Training and guided the students with respect to the live project. The students also gave SORM certification exams and majority of them cleared the exams.

The valedictory session was presided over by Dr. M. Thenmozhi, Director, NISM. The programme was well received by the participants and at last all participants were given Certificate of Participation.

Summer School 2019 was well received by undergraduate and post graduate students of PES university as well as market participants. They attended all the training sessions with great vigour and enthusiasm
