The inauguration of the Certificate Programme in Data Science (Advance) 2026 was successfully conducted on 26th April 2026 at the National Institute of Securities Markets. The event marked the formal commencement of the programme, aimed at equipping students with advanced skills in data science, analytics, and their applications in the financial domain.

The session began with a welcome and introduction, followed by an overview of the programme objectives, structure, and academic roadmap. Students were familiarized with the course framework and expectations, highlighting the growing importance of data science and analytics in today’s technology-driven and data-centric world.

The inaugural address was delivered by Shri Sashi Krishnan, Director, NISM, who shared valuable insights on the importance of data in today’s business environment. He emphasized that data has become a key asset for organizations and that effective data analytics plays a crucial role in informed decision-making, strategic planning, and gaining a competitive advantage. He also highlighted how organizations increasingly depend on data to understand trends, improve efficiency, and drive innovation.

The programme overview was presented by Dr. Kirti Arekar, Professor, NISM and Program Director – CPDS Advance Programme, who elaborated on the course structure, modules, and learning outcomes. The session also included faculty and participant introductions, encouraging interaction and fostering a collaborative learning environment. The current batch comprises 37 students from diverse academic and professional backgrounds.
