The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) is a public trust established in 2006 by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the regulator of the securities markets in India. The institute carries out a wide range of capacity building activities at various levels aimed at enhancing the quality standards in securities markets.

The Commodity Education Cell (CEC) at the School for Securities Education (SSE) of the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) had conducted Online Training on Commodity Value Chain Professionals on Pricing and Valuation of Commodities. The program was conducted on Three Consecutive Weekends (Saturday & Sunday) starting 4th of June 2022 and concluded on the 19th June 2022. Each Saturday & Sunday, there were Two Lectures of 90 Minutes each (02:00 PM to 03:30 PM and 03:45 PM to 05:15 PM). The total duration of the Program was 18 hours.

In the Program the participants learned about APMC & Modern Electronic Platform and their role in Price Discovery, Factors Affecting Commodity Prices, Commodity Derivative Markets and their Role in Price discovery, Importance of Quality in Commodities Valuation, Commodity wise Major Quality Parameters (Discussion of Major Commodities, Essentials of Commodity Valuation, Price Pooling Process and Standards, Process of Valuation (Function of Price & Quality) and Challenges faced by the Warehousing Service Providers and other stakeholders in Commodity Valuation. 

Around 27 participants attended the Training Programme and benefitted from the deliberations.

Dr. Hanish Kumar Sinha and Dr. V Shunmugam addressed the participants and deliberated on topics related to Commodity value, Pricing and its valuations.

The session was not only informative but also highly interactive.

The session concluded with vote of thanks to participants.
