NISM-IFSCA-01 Anti Money Laundering and Counter Terrorist Financing in IFSC

Launch of NISM-IFSCA-01 Anti Money Laundering and Counter Terrorist Financing in IFSC w.e.f. November 27, 2025.

The examination seeks to create a common minimum knowledge benchmark for the capital market intermediaries about Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Counter Terrorist Financing regulations in IFSC ecosystem.

The examination covers various aspects related to Anti Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorist Financing (CFT) and Know Your Customer. Some of them are the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA), Scheduled Offences, AML, CFT and KYC Guidelines and PMLA related cases.

The certification aims to create awareness among the capital market intermediaries about the AML and CFT regulations in IFSC ecosystem.


Examination Objectives:

On successful completion of the examination, the candidate should:

  • Know the concepts of AML and CFT and related aspects, provisions of the PMLA, and scheduled offences;
  • Understand guidelines pertaining to Anti Money Laundering (AML) Standards, Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) and Proliferation Financing (PF),
  • Understand the IFSCA Anti Money Laundering, Counter Terrorist-Financing and Know Your Customer Guidelines, 2022 from Regulated Entities’ perspective.
  • Know about the Financial Action Task Force and its recommendations for AML and CFT.

 Assessment Structure

  1. The examination consists of 50 questions of 1 mark each and should be completed in 1 hour.
  2. The passing percentage for the examination is 50 percent (25 marks).
  3. There shall be no negative marking.


Test Details

  1. Name of Examination: NISM-IFSCA-01: Certification Examination on Anti Money Laundering and Counter Terrorist Financing in IFSC
  2. + Payment gateway charges extra.
  3. # Passing Certificate will be issued only to those candidates who have furnished/updated their Income Tax Permanent Account Number (PAN) in their registration details.
