Launch of NISM-Series-XXV-B: Persons Associated with Investment Advice (Sales and Other Non-Core Services) Certification Examination w.e.f. June 01, 2026.

This examination seeks to create a common minimum knowledge benchmark for the persons associated with investment advice, defined under Regulation 2(r) of the SEBI (Investment Advisers) Regulations, 2013. The examination only caters to Persons Associated with Investment Advice who perform sales and other non-core services.

Examination Objectives:

On successful completion of the examination, the candidate should:d:

• Know the concepts and importance of personal financial planning, financial markets, and investor protection mechanisms;

• Understand securities markets, investment fundamentals, risk–return relationship, compounding, asset allocation, and portfolio rebalancing;

• Understand financial asset classes including equity, debt, and derivatives along with their characteristics, risks, and regulatory framework;

• Know the purpose, features, and role of financial products such as mutual funds, PMS, AIF, SIF, retirement and insurance products in financial planning;

• Understand client profiling, advisory-based sales approach, communication, negotiation, and relationship management in an RIA setup;

• Know the importance of professionalism, ethics, fiduciary responsibility, and regulatory compliance in investment advisory activities.

Deliverables and Examination Structure

• The certification examination content is freely available on NISM’s YouTube channel.

• After completion of the course content, candidates may appear for the examination through https://www.nism.ac.in. Once a candidate enrolls for the examination, it is mandatory to complete an assessment test of 50 marks with 50 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), where each question carries 1 mark.

• The examination will be an internet-based exam, for 60 minutes and will be conducted in a remotely proctored environment, unlike the Test Centre based examinations.

• The Passing criteria of the exam is 50% (i.e., 25 marks).

• There is No negative marking.

• All candidates will be issued a Certificate upon clearing the Assessment Test which will be valid for a period of 3 years. The same shall be renewed before expiry of the existing certificate by reappearing for the exam.
