The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) is a public trust established in 2006 by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the regulator of the securities markets in India. The institute carries out a wide range of capacity building activities at various levels aimed at enhancing the quality standards in securities markets.

NISM is conducting a Programme on Securities Markets for IRS Officer-Trainees of National Academy of Direct Taxes (NADT), Nagpur at its Patalganga Campus from April 18-21, 2022.

The inaugural function of the Programme was held on April 18, 2022.  Mr. M. Krishnamoorthy, Member of Faculty, welcomed the dignitaries and the participating Officers

Mr. Pankaj Kumar Mishra, Director, Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) addressed the participants and gave brief overview on Financial Action Task Force (FATF), its formation and scope. He further deliberated on the role played by FATF in connection with Regulators and other government agencies. Mr. Mishra, out of his rich experience, also dwelt upon the applications with case studies of companies with current importance.

Dr. CKG Nair, Director, NISM, addressed the participants on the topic “Financial Institution and Regulations”. He deliberated on the role of technology on securities markets and the changes in processes, products and participants in the Securities Markets.

In all, there were 55 participants who are attending the programme.
