The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) is a public trust established in 2006 by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the regulator of the securities markets in India. The institute carries out a wide range of capacity building activities at various levels aimed at enhancing the quality standards in securities markets.

NISM has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IL&FS Academy of Applied Development, on August 14, 2014 to address activities of joint interest focusing on promotion of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) at financing institutions and companies.

The desire of NISM and IAAD to enter into a strategic relationship is to focus on the Conduct of Training Programmes on ESG for Financing Institutions and Companies.

The MoU will also aim to develop curriculum on ESG in the existing certificate programs and offer such courses. As part of the collaboration, both parties will organize seminars, workshops, roundtables on ESG. Both the parties will also undertake research on ESG and prepare publications.
