Global Internship Programme
NISM has conducted Global Internship Programme for Newcastle University Business School students from 1st July to 26th July, 2019 at NISM Campus, Patalganga. 6 participants have attended the programme.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. M. Thenmozhi, Director, NISM and students were addressed by Dr. V. R. Narasimhan, Dean, School for Regulatory studies and Supervision (SRSS), School for Corporate Governance (SCG) & School for Securities Information and Research (SSIR) and Prof. K. Sukumaran, Dean, School of Securities Education (SSE) & School for Investor Education & Financial Literacy (SIEFL). Dr. Pradiptarathi Panda, Lecturer initiated the inaugural session and Mr. Meraj Inamdar, Lecturer was there to inspire the students.
Captain S. K. Nair, Chief Security and Protocol Officer, Security and Protocol Department (SPD) & Incharge, General Service Department (GSD) and Mr. Rabindra Agasti, Deputy Manager –SPD were there to make them aware about the rules and regulations as well as Dos and Don’ts at NISM inside and outside of Campus.
The programme was aimed at making the participants aware about the various topics pertaining to the Securities Markets as well as project work under the guidance of members of faculties, NISM. The programme was a blend of classroom sessions, Hands on trading sessions, Exchange visit SEBI & NSE and live project in Securities Markets.

The core faculties of NISM trained the participants on the topics like Overview of Indian Economy, Primary and Secondary Markets, Financial Literacy, macro Economics using Bloomberg, Valuation and Financial Modelling, Simulation Lab Training, etc.
The students selected the project topics i.e. SME – challenges and financing models, Indian SME Exchange vs UK AIM – Comparative study, Research Analysis & Investment Advisory, Volatility and volatility spill overs across stock markets, Shadow Banking in India, Evolution of responsible investment in emerging economies. They were guided by the members of Faculties, NISM to complete their projects in short span of time.
The valedictory session was presided over by Mr. Sunil Jayawant Kadam, Registrar, NISM. The programme was well received by the participants and at last all participants were given Certificate of Participation.
Global Internship Programme 2019 was well received by students of Newcastle University Business School. They attended all the training sessions with great vigour and enthusiasm.
