The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) is a public trust established in 2006 by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the regulator of the securities markets in India. The institute carries out a wide range of capacity building activities at various levels aimed at enhancing the quality standards in securities markets.

NISM has conducted a Familiarization Programme on ‘E-Voting & General Body Meeting Processes in India’ for Securities and Exchange Organization of Iran at NISM Patalganga Campus during July 29 – August 3, 2019. A total of 13 participants have attended the programme.

 All participants were taken to visit Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on their first day where they have interacted with Mr. S. K. Mohanty, Whole Time Member, SEBI. In second half of day, they have visited National Stock Exchange where sessions on Clearing and Settlement and Cyber Security were arranged.

The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Sunil Kadam, Registrar, NISM and Mr. V. R. Narasimhan, NISM. Mr. Vishal Shukla, Member of Faculty, NISM was the programme co-ordinator.

A musical evening was organized with live singing performances in Auditorium. All NISM students, staff and ICLS programme participants were also invited to join for the musical evening followed by dinner.

A visit to annual General Meeting of Tata Communications at BSE was organized in order to understand E-Voting & General Body Meeting Processes in India. All classroom sessions were also centered on the main theme of E-voting to have clearer perspective from regulation as well market participants.

On the last day of programme, an informal yet informative and interactive session was conducted by Mr. Somasekhar Sundaresan, Advocate & Independent Legal Counsel where varied topics, policies and their impact & perception was discussed.

 All participants were awarded with the certificate of training completion by Mr. Somasekhar Sundaresan and Dr. Latha Chari, Lecturer. All Participants were given a book titled ‘My Experiments with Truth by Mahatma Gandhi’ which is an autobiography. The training program was liked and appreciated by all and vice-versa. All Iranian Delegates were appreciated by all internal as well as external faculties for their enthusiasm to learn and being interactive.
