National Institute of Securities Market has organized NISM Summer Project Competition 2018 on 8th September 2018. The Summer Project Competition is an annual nation-wide competition for post graduate students to exhibit their summer internship projects, to a panel of industry experts and academicians.
Total 383 online entries from all over India were received in the first stage, where they were critically scrutinized based on predefined parameters by internal committee of NISM. The best 5 projects were shortlisted and called for the final presentation at NISM Patalganaga Campus.
This event was inaugurated by our renowned panelists, Dr. Nitin Tike, Mr. Karthikeyan R and Mr. Pradeep Karyakarte.
Dr. Nitin Tike addressed the student audience regarding the NISM programs, courses and NISM’s motivation for conducting summer project competition. Dr. Nitin Tike has been working as Sr. Vice President at NISM since June 2011. In a career span of 28 years, he has worked in the areas of banking, corporate finance, merchant banking, corporate and retail credit, retail broking, training and in academics. During these 28 years, he served organizations like Weizmann, Mafatlal Finance Company, Mafatlal Securities, India Infoline and Bharati Vidyapeeth.
R. Karthikeyan, a gold medalist as a student is professionally a Consultant and a Corporate Trainer, having a rich experience as a Banking Professional with diverse exposure of over 38 years in Commercial Banking, Investment Banking and Financial Markets. He retired as Principal of Staff Training College at Abhyudaya Co-op. Bank and also worked as an expert with BSE, Konkan Railway and other Corporate Entitie
Pradeep G. KARYAKARTEA first class Science Graduate from Bombay University with Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management, holds various insurance related qualifications from Insurance Institute of India and National Insurance Academy. He has an experience of more than 40 years in General Insurance Industry of which 24 years have been with The New India Assurance Co. Ltd. where he worked in various capacities as Assistant Branch Manager, Branch Manager and Divisional Manager. He received Best Performing Branch Award consecutively for three years for excelling in all Service Parameters and bringing on New India’s books mega projects and large corporate businesses.
The presentations began with an enthusiastic finalist Ms. Surabhi Somani from IIT Bombay, followed by Sumeet Mohapatra from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute Of Management Studies, Anirban Mallick from Durgadevi Saraf Institute of Management Studies, Khushboo Sultan from International Management Institute, New Delhi and Rohit Raj from Central University of Tamilnadu.
In between the presentations, some general knowledge and current affair questions were asked to student audience to keep up their high spirit. Students who gave correct answers were awarded with NISM books.
After all the presentations, final winners were declared. Ms. Khushboo Sultan won the third prize of Rs. 10,000 in the NISM Summer Project Competition 2018. Mr. Sumeet Somani won second prize of Rs. 20,000 and Ms. Surabhi Somani won the First prize of Rs. 25,000.
Students and faculties from various institutes of Mumbai were invited to be part of NISM Summer Project Competition 2018 visit the new campus of NISM. The event concluded with prize distribution and appreciation for all finalists’ hard work on their summer project. It was a knowledge enriching experience for all students and faculties.
