The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) is a public trust established in 2006 by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the regulator of the securities markets in India. The institute carries out a wide range of capacity building activities at various levels aimed at enhancing the quality standards in securities markets.

A One day workshop on ‘Trading in Equities” was conducted for MBA students of D Y Patil Institute of Management,Pune on 20th March, 2017 at at NISM Premises, Vashi, Navi Mumbai. The program is a unique blend of basic essential theory that covers trading operations, how markets work and then exposes students to real world of equities trading through hands on session in the SMART LAB.

The broad objective of the program was to enable students to understand concepts related to trading like price-time priority order matching, trading operations, trade data. The program further included hands on session on how to execute trade, through live simulated trading lab session. It also covered simple trading strategies, query through the system and track trades and orders.

The program was attended by a group of 31 students and 4 faculties from the Institute and well received by all of them.
