
National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) successfully conducted a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “Empowering Educators by Building their Expertise in Securities Markets” from 19th to 23rd January 2026” at its Patalganga Campus. The programme attracted around 97 faculty members from Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) across India, aiming to enhance their financial expertise and understanding of the evolving securities markets.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Rachana Baid (Dean – Academics), and Keynote Address by Shri Shashi Krishnan (Director) who emphasized India’s economic growth and capital market transformation.
The programme began with foundational insights into securities markets and investment instruments, led by Mr. Sunil Gawde and Dr. Kapil Shrimal.
Day 2, Dr. Rachana Baid addressed investor behaviour and financial planning, followed by Mr.Amit Trivedi, who provided in-depth coverage of mutual funds and their regulatory landscape.
Day 3 featured Dr. Dhiraj Jain delivering sessions on equity derivatives, followed by a Portfolio Management Services (PMS) and Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) with Dr. Jatin Trivedi
Day 4 focused on risk-return fundamentals, economic, industry and company analysis with Mr. Madhav Mehta and simulation lab with Dr. Meraj Inamdar for practical exposure to trading strategies.
Day 5 The final day introduced participants -, financial statements, and valuation techniques by Mr.Vijay Kanchan and concluded with Dr. Kirti Arekar’s hands-on session on data science applications and visualization tools in financial markets. The programme culminated with a valedictory session by Ms. Yogita Jadhav, Registrar-NISM leaving participants enriched with updated knowledge and practical skills for their academic and professional roles.
